Meet Michael Steinle, DMD
Dr. Michael Steinle is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon whose career spans private practice, academic leadership, and distinguished military service. He brings a rare breadth of experience to the Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery — and the same high standard of care to every patient he sees.
Education and Training
Dr. Steinle graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bucknell University and from UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School. Upon completing a General Practice Residency at the East Orange VAMC, he entered the United States Navy.
He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia, and went on to serve in postings around the globe — including a deployment aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During his naval career, he served as the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Site Director, Department Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Hospital Dentistry at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, and Oral Surgery Specialty Leader to the Navy’s Surgeon General.
Dr. Steinle practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, with a particular emphasis on pediatric and geriatric anesthesia, orthognathic surgery, bone augmentation, implants, and reconstruction.
Certifications and Credentials
Dr. Steinle is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology — two of the most rigorous distinctions available in his field. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the International College of Dentists, and maintains an active membership in the American Dental Association.
Beyond the Office
Dr. Steinle is married to Dr. Patricia Tordik, a Captain in the United States Navy and board-certified endodontist.
