Is Full Arch Restoration Right for You?

Full arch restoration, or full mouth dental implants, is a treatment designed for patients who have lost most or all the teeth on their upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. It’s also a strong option for those whose remaining teeth are beyond saving and who are looking for a long-term solution rather than a temporary fix.

Good candidates generally have enough bone in the jaw to support implants, though that isn’t always a requirement. If bone loss has occurred, preparatory procedures like bone grafting — or in some cases, zygomatic implants — can help improve your odds of being received for dental implant treatment. Your surgeon will evaluate your bone density, overall health, and goals during your initial consultation to determine the best path forward.

Why Choose Full Arch Reconstruction?

For many patients, the decision to move forward with full arch restoration boils down to one priority — reclaiming their quality of life. Here’s what sets this treatment apart from other tooth replacement options.

  • Eat Without Restriction: Traditional dentures can shift, limit what you eat, and require adhesives to stay in place. Full arch implants are fixed permanently in your jaw — so you can eat what you want, speak clearly, and go about your day without giving your teeth a second thought.
  • Support Your Facial Structure: When teeth are missing, the jawbone begins to deteriorate over time. Dental implants stimulate the bone the same way natural tooth roots do, helping to prevent bone loss and preserve the natural shape of your face.
  • A Long-Term Investment in Your Health: Conventional dentures need to be replaced and adjusted as the jaw changes shape, due to bone loss. Full arch implants, with proper care, not only preserve the jawbone, but with proper care, are designed to last a lifetime — making them more stable and potentially more cost-effective in the long run.

Our Approach

Every full arch case at our practice begins with a detailed evaluation and a treatment plan built specifically around you. We use advanced digital imaging and surgical planning tools to map out each procedure before moving forward.

For patients with significant bone loss in the upper jaw, we also offer zygomatic implants — a specialized technique that anchors the restoration into the cheekbone rather than the jaw. This makes full arch restoration possible for patients who have been told elsewhere that they aren’t candidates.

We want you to know that your comfort throughout the process matters to us as much as your results. Sedation options are available, and your care team will walk you through every stage, so you always know what to expect.

Why Choose Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for Full Arch Restoration?

Full arch restoration is one of the most technically demanding procedures in oral surgery. It requires a surgeon with deep experience, precise planning, and the judgment to handle complexity when it arises. Together, our team has placed thousands of implants and completed successful full arch restorations for patients across a wide range of starting points — including patients who had been turned away from other practices.

We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Every plan is built around your unique anatomy, your goals, and your timeline — with honest guidance at every step.

Common Questions About Full Arch Restoration

Full arch restoration replaces an entire row of missing teeth — upper, lower, or both — using dental implants as a secure foundation. Rather than individual crowns for each tooth, a full set of prosthetic teeth is secured to four or more implants placed in the jaw. The result is a fixed restoration that doesn’t come in and out, and doesn’t rely on adhesives or neighboring teeth for support.

The cost varies depending on several factors — how many implants are needed, whether preparatory procedures like bone grafting are required, and the type of restoration being placed. Because every case is different, we’ll give you a clear, detailed breakdown during your consultation. We also work with patients to explore financing options, and our team can help you understand what your insurance plan may or may not cover.

Your surgeon will make sure you’re comfortable before anything begins. Most patients receive sedation or general anesthesia during the procedure itself, so the experience is far more manageable than you may expect. Afterward, some soreness and swelling are to be expected — typically most noticeable in the first few days. If you notice anything during recovery that doesn’t feel right, like worsening pain or signs of infection, reach out to our office right away rather than waiting it out.

The timeline depends on your starting point. If preparatory work like extractions or bone grafting is needed, that adds time up front. We almost always do extractions, grafts and implants the same day and we pretty much always do immediate temps. So every patient gets fixed teeth during the healing so they don’t have to wear a denture.

Your surgeon will map out a realistic timeline specific to your case during the initial consultation.

Traditional dentures rest on the gums and can slip, require adhesive, and need to be removed at night. They also don’t stimulate the jawbone, which means bone loss continues over time. Full arch implants are surgically anchored into the jaw, staying fixed in place permanently. They look more natural, function more like real teeth, and actively help preserve the bone structure underneath — something dentures can’t do.

Do you want your oral surgery to be swift and done extremely well? Look no further. I had a mucocele on my lower lip and was DESPERATE to get it out. When no other oral surgeon would take me for over a week, COMS took me within 24 hours. And Dr. Anderson just NAILED this operation. I understand it’s routine, but there was a calmness and a professionalism that he brought with him that you can’t find many places. Front desk staff was extremely helpful, too. Have to give them some love. They were quick and had me checked in and ready to go in no time. Thank you, COMS!
