Welcome to the Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
From your very first visit, you’ll be welcomed by a team who listens, a surgeon who takes time to explain, and a clear plan to set your health up for success.
Schedule ConsultationWhat to Expect at Your First Visit
Your initial appointment is built around understanding you — your concerns, your history, and your goals. There’s no rushing through it, and there are no decisions made without your full understanding and input.
- A Warm Welcome: Our front desk team is here to make you feel welcome, confirm your information, and make sure you feel at ease. If you have any questions before you even sit down with the surgeon, we’re happy to help.
- A Thorough Evaluation: Your surgeon will want to hear what’s brought you in, what concerns you, and what outcome matters most to you. From there, your evaluation will include a review of your medical and dental history, a clinical examination of your teeth, gums, jaw, and surrounding structures, and any necessary imaging such as X-rays or 3D scans. Everything is used to build a complete picture before any recommendations are made.
- Our Experience: Our board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons bring extensive surgical training and years of active clinical experience to every consultation. Their backgrounds span the full scope of the specialty, with particular depth in dental implants, complex extractions, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, and full arch reconstruction. Many patients who come to us have been told their cases are too complicated or that they aren’t candidates for treatment elsewhere. Our team takes those cases seriously and approaches each one with the same care and precision as any other.
Your Comfort and Safety Come First
- Minimizing Discomfort: We use innovative imaging and surgical planning tools to improve accuracy and reduce unknowns. Sedation options are available for every surgical visit, and your surgeon will discuss what’s most appropriate for your procedure and your comfort level before anything is scheduled.
- Safety Protocols: Our offices follow rigorous infection control and safety standards across all six locations. Every member of our clinical team is trained to maintain a sterile environment and monitor your wellbeing throughout your visit. You are always accompanied during your procedure, and your vital signs are closely tracked whenever sedation is involved.
The Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Difference
What sets us apart isn’t just surgical skill — it’s the way we approach every patient relationship. We believe you should understand exactly what’s happening with your oral health, why a particular treatment is recommended, and what your alternatives are. We want you to walk out of your consultation feeling confident and ready for what comes next.
After your evaluation, your surgeon will walk you through their findings clearly, present your treatment options honestly, and answer every question you bring. From there, you’ll leave with a personalized plan and a timeline that makes sense for you.

Ongoing Care After Your First Visit
Your relationship with our practice doesn’t end when your procedure does. Our team follows up to monitor your healing, answer questions that come up during recovery, and make sure your results are everything they should be. We’ll also provide guidance on maintaining your oral health between visits so you can protect your investment in your care long term.
If anything comes up after you leave — a concern, a question, or something that doesn’t feel right — our offices are here and reachable. We’d rather hear from you early so we can get you the support you need when you need it.
Common Questions About Your First Visit
Most initial consultations run between 45 minutes and an hour, depending on the complexity of your situation and how much imaging is needed. If you’re coming in for a straightforward concern, it may be shorter. If your case involves multiple considerations or significant bone loss, your surgeon may need a bit more time to do a thorough review. Either way, we won’t rush the conversation.
Plan to bring a valid photo ID, your dental and medical insurance information, a current list of any medications you take, and any recent X-rays or records from your dentist if you have them. Arriving a few minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork also helps the visit start on time. If you completed your intake forms through our patient portal ahead of your appointment, you’re already one step ahead.
Not necessarily, and never without your input. Some patients are ready to move forward with a plan at their initial consultation. Others need time to review their options, consult with their general dentist, or think through the financial side of their care. There’s no pressure to decide anything on the spot. Our goal is to make sure you leave informed — whatever you decide to do next is entirely up to you.
