Meet Peter Henein, DMD
Dr. Peter Henein is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon born and raised in New Jersey. His path to surgery began early — shaped by a hands-on experience and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of the patients he serves.
Education and Training
Dr. Henein’s interest in dentistry took root during high school and college, while working in a dental office where he developed a deep appreciation for precise skills and personalized patient care. That experience set him on the path to pursuing a career in the field.
He attended dental school at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in New Jersey, where his exposure to oral and maxillofacial surgery solidified his decision to become a surgeon. After completing dental school, he undertook a General Practice Residency at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey for one year, followed by a comprehensive four-year surgical residency at Rutgers.
Throughout his training, Dr. Henein gained extensive experience in complex surgical procedures — including zygomatic implants, full arch rehabilitation, and emergency facial trauma cases. He remains committed to staying current with advancements in surgical technology to ensure his patients always receive the most effective care available.
Certifications and Credentials
Dr. Henein is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the New Jersey Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and the New Jersey Dental Association. He also serves as a mentor to aspiring dentists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons, believing strongly in the value of professional development and giving back to the next generation of practitioners.
Beyond the Office
Outside of his practice, Dr. Henein enjoys traveling internationally with his wife and three children. A proud New York Giants fan, he also loves playing basketball, reading, and firing up the grill during the summer months.

Hi, I'm doctor Henein and welcome to NJCOMS I was born and raised in New Jersey. I went to school here, I did residency here, and I was looking for a practice that does complex, advanced procedures as well, respected within the community, as well established. So I joined three years ago now. I feel like I fit in very well. I feel like it's a great culture. We always put the needs of the patient first, which to me is very important. comms is a group of six offices and seven oral surgeons. We all work as a team. We all kind of rotate through different offices. So we're always there to help each other out when needed. Because of our multiple locations, we're always able to provide emergency services, see people for follow up as soon as they need to. And we always have most of our locations open. My staff here is the reason that we run. We're a very busy practice. We do a lot of different kinds of procedures. Our staff makes sure that I'm functioning the best that I can. Everything ready for me? And they make sure that our patients are taking care of another comfortable before I come in the room. People should come to comes for their dental implants. Because as specialists, we have spent years and years perfecting our craft. And with the different techniques and technology, there are many different places that offer these procedures. But are they providing the highest quality of work and do they stand by their work? At COMS, we do both. We use the best materials that are out there, the best technology, and we stand by our work. We're always here. I always tell my patients who can come see me anytime there's any issue on there.
